How I Lost It

Let me start off by saying losing weight is hard work, you have to be motivated and dedicated which I was neither. Weight was never an issue for me, I was in every sport in high school until I got married and well, had a baby. After bugs' 1st birthday, I looked back on pictures and couldn't believe the way I looked. I was the heaviest I had ever been and I was very unhappy with myself. I could no longer use the excuse "Oh, I just had a baby!" Nope, that doesn't work when your child is now a toddler.

So, I promised myself no more sweets. I went on walks with Bug everyday, but still, I was losing weight just a little at a time. I'm a very visual person, I have to see results in order to get motivated and that wasn't happening. I was talking with a physician that I work with who said try Cinnamon capsules to help. Wait, what? Yes, that's right. I bought 1,000 mg Cinnamon capsules which were $5.00 and buy one get one free. Score! You are to take one with breakfast, lunch and dinner. After the first week of taking them religiously, I lost 2 pounds! I must say though, you have to eat right too, you can't eat junk and expect for it to work.

I am active with my daughter. When Bug was younger, I felt so heavy that I really didn't want to do anything much. But now we love going to the park and walking around the neighborhood.

I made healthier food choices by cutting out fast food and keeping a food journal on My Fitness Pal which helped me keep track of my calorie intake.

I work out on a budget. Really, who has a $100 a month to dish out for a gym membership? My favorite types of workouts are dancing, swimming and just going for a walk. You don't have to be at a fancy gym to lose weight!

Energy was also an issue for me. I was too tired to workout by the end of the day, so I tried this amazing drink called Spark by Advocare and it did wonders! I suddenly felt energized and I didn't feel jittery like a Starbucks drink makes me feel.

I've now lost 45 pounds and I feel so confident in myself! Before losing weight, I didn't think it would change my life drastically, but it did. I no longer feel as lazy and fitting into those old jeans is the best feeling, but remember, If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up!!
